Suggested supplies:

Sketching journal - at least 5.5"x 8.5"60 lb paper (at least 90-98 lb for watercolor)

Drawing tools - permanent felt tip pen/s (eg: Pigma Micron 01-03 archival ink) pencil, sharpener, eraser

Colored pencils (I will also have many colors to share!) OR

Portable watercolor set

Water brush (small size) or portable brush and small water container

Nature Journaling Deep Dive: Plants, Pollinators, Practice and Play!
9:00 am - 12:00 pm (except 7/1 will be 9:30am-12pm)
June 15 - native plants, playing with shading
June 22 - native pollinators, experimentation with color
July 1 - landscape and blocking
July 9 - Putting it together, foreground and background
Location: My home, 3526 Wyota Avenue, Madison, WI 53711
Take time to learn and connect with plants and pollinators while practicing and playing with artistic techniques. We'll learn sketching skills and how to capture dimension with shading and color. And since all of these things get better with practice, we'll focus on LOTS of drawing time while loosening up and having fun (which, turns out, facilitates learning!).
This class will prioritize:

minimizing pressure on perfection while emphasizing detailed observation,

LOTS of experimentation,

Generating many low stress drawings
-
one-on-one instruction!
These 4 workshops will be 3 hours long and are limited to 4 participants to keep instruction intimate.
